About Us

Our Mission

The mission of Public School 18 is to provide each student with the basic foundation for their future and each parent with the support needed to help realize this goal. Using research-based classroom methodologies and a framework that fosters positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), we seek to educate the children academically, socially, and emotionally. We aim to develop curious and enthusiastic learners and equip them with the tools needed to thrive as independent learners.

Our Vision

The vision of Public School 18 is to develop a school that is highly regarded for its academic excellence, attention to technology in education, and for its contributions to developing strong community ties. We do this by providing our students with standard-based rigorous instruction. Students take ownership of their learning in a safe and supportive environment.

Instructional Foci

IF our school is actively engaged in developing a collaborative and responsive learning environment rooted in CCLS aligned curriculum, thus providing access and equity for all learners, THEN all students will have opportunities to be independent, self-regulated learners as evidenced by an increase in student achievement.

IF District 31 and school leaders effectively collaborate to build capacity within the school community, THEN we will see evidence of all stakeholders working within a supportive environment with shared responsibility of achieving instructional goals that will serve the needs of all students.
